Welcome to MHF! Our school seeks to honor the fencing masters of the past by bringing Italian swordsmanship of the 15th Century into the modern day.

We learn weapons from all over history, with a focus on
longsword of late medieval period and early Rennaissance.

 

HEMA Labs is a tournament series we use to test experimental rulesets in a competitive setting. Here we focus on community and fun over glory.

I have never fenced, what do I need?

Our school provides all the fencing equipment you need to start your journey to being a master! All you need to bring is athletic clothing, good shoes, and a nice attitude.

Do you offer group classes or private lessons?

We offer both group classes for those looking for a social experience and private lessons for personalized instruction.

MHF started in late 2024 by Timothy D'Ambrosio, a fifteen-year veteran of HEMA, and life-long lover of swords and martial arts. His vision is to create an engaging, affordable, and fun community resource for people who want to learn and grow with likeminded nerds like themselves.
